The Tiger belongs to Yin 寅, the 3rd of the Twelve Earthly Branches. Lun Heng's Wu Shi explicitly identifies Yin 寅 as Wood and names the Tiger as its corresponding animal. This historical calendrical identity is kept separate from the modern personality and archetype layers that appear later in the SAGE reading.
