Myth, Legend & The Shadow Side
🏁 The Great Race
Long ago, the Jade Emperor decided to create a way to measure time. He summoned all the creatures of Earth to a race across a mighty river. The first twelve to reach the other side would each have a year named in their honor.
The Rat and Ox rose before dawn. The Rat, small and clever, jumped onto the Ox's back. Just before reaching the shore, the Rat leaped from the Ox's ear and dashed to the Emperor's feet, winning first place.
The Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig followed — each completing the sacred circle of twelve. And so the zodiac was born.

🐁 The Rat's Wedding
On the night of the Lunar New Year, the rats hold their most important celebration — the wedding of the Rat King's daughter. The entire rodent kingdom prepares for months, weaving tiny garments from stolen silk threads.
🐉 The Dragon Kings of the Four Seas
Four mighty Dragon Kings ruled the four seas. Ao Guang ruled the East Sea, Ao Qin the South, Ao Shun the West, and Ao Jun the North. Together they maintained the balance of the world.
🐅 The Tiger and the Fox
A hungry Tiger caught a cunning Fox. The Fox cried: 'You cannot eat me! The Jade Emperor has appointed me guardian of all the beasts.' The Tiger, intimidated, released the Fox. But the animals fled from the Tiger, not the Fox.
🐂 The Weaving Maiden and the Ox
The Weaving Maiden was a goddess who wove the clouds. The Oxherd was a mortal. They fell in love, but the Queen Mother of the West drew the Milky Way between them. Once each year, magpies form a bridge so they can reunite.
